Nanaimo is situated on the east coast of Vancouver Island. The name may sound familiar as it shares the same name as the famous Canadian dessert: the Nanaimo bar. The city features spectacular views of the ocean and has several trails, including a Nanaimo Bar Trail in town.

Vancouver is one of the most picturesque cities in Canada. It is situated by the ocean, surrounded by mountains and is covered in greenery. It also has a mild climate year-round. If you can tolerate the rain, it’s the perfect place to enjoy city living at the edge of nature.
Victoria

Victoria is located at the southern tip of Vancouver Island and boasts of having the most moderate weather in Canada. The scenery is also stunning with views of the ocean, snow-capped mountains and tall towering trees. With so much nature surrounding Victoria, it’s the perfect place for being outdoors.

Yoho and Kootenay National Parks
Visited: September 2016 – 2 days
We flew into Calgary at the end of August to embark on a 12 day road trip across six national parks. Two of which are located in eastern British Columbia: Yoho and Kootenay, which are nestled right beside Banff and Jasper. Together these four national parks, along with three nearby provincial parks in British Columbia, form the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks World Heritage Site.
